True Alignment Orthodontics

What is interceptive orthodontics?

Interceptive orthodontic treatment is a form of orthodontic care that focuses on correcting dental and skeletal problems early in the child’s development, while the jaw and teeth are still developing. Dentists can create more room in the jaw for teeth to emerge correctly and prevent impacted teeth by using clear aligners for interceptive orthodontic treatment.

When teeth are impacted, they are unable to emerge correctly through the gums, usually due to overcrowding or a lack of room in the jaw. Impacted teeth can cause a variety of issues, including pain, infection, and harm to neighboring teeth.

By making more space in the jaw for the teeth to emerge correctly, interceptive orthodontic treatment with clear aligners can help avoid the problem of impacted teeth. The dentist can help ensure that there is enough space for all of the teeth to come in without causing crowding or impaction by using clear aligners to gradually shift the teeth into their correct position.

Interceptive orthodontic treatment can help guide a tooth that is already impacted into the proper position. Using clear aligners or other orthodontic tools, the dentist can slowly move the tooth into the right place, allowing it to come through the gums and preventing more problems.

Clear aligners are typically worn 20-22 hours per day and are replaced every 1-2 weeks as the teeth shift. Depending on the severity of the situation, treatment could last several months to a year.

Using clear aligners for interceptive orthodontic treatment has a number of benefits, one of which is that they look better because they are clear and almost invisible. They are also removable, making oral hygiene simpler and allowing the child to eat and drink freely.

Furthermore, because clear aligners are made of smooth plastic and do not have any metal brackets or wires that can cause irritation or discomfort in the mouth, they may be more comfortable than conventional braces. Overall, clear aligners are a good and easy way to do early orthodontic treatment while still looking natural and feeling comfortable.
